Building things outside the syllabus
I study Management Science & Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business, with coursework in programming, data analysis and business information systems — right now mostly Java and data-science fundamentals.
Since August 2026 I'm an undergraduate researcher at the Business Analytics Lab (BALab), working on an empirical software-engineering study (more below). Outside class I run @hellenic_infographics and build apps on the side. The first one to ship is FinanceSim, a national-economy simulator on Google Play.
Recognition. Among Top contestants in AUEB's 6th ERMIS competition (2025), and a national award-winning essay on historical socio-economics for the Hellenic Red Cross, selected for the Asia Minor centennial (2022).
Certifications. English C2 (Michigan State University), Learning Java 11 (LinkedIn), and Anthropic's AI Fluency and Claude 101 courses.
Business Analytics Lab
The Business Analytics Lab (BALab) is the research lab of AUEB's Department of Management Science & Technology, headed by Prof. Diomidis Spinellis. Its aim is to research, develop and disseminate software, systems, methods and practices built on data analytics.
What makes it matter is where the work ends up. Recent BALab papers have appeared in ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology, OSDI, MSR, Empirical Software Engineering and IEEE Software, and one received a Distinguished Paper Award. For an undergraduate, that means learning research by doing it, next to people who publish at that level.
Undergraduate researcher
I'm part of a team working on an empirical software-engineering study that mines large open-source datasets at scale with AWS Athena. I lead one of the study's analysis axes.
More details once the paper is out.
- Software engineering and management-science applications of data analytics
- AI applications of big data
- Data analytics for IT security
- Software and systems for big data
- Industrial adoption of business analytics
- Energy use and runtime performance in the era of AI and big data

Discord bots & side builds
Founder of the IcariaCord and HellenicTM Discord communities, with custom aoi.js bots for moderation and engagement (2020–2022). Ongoing coding projects live on GitHub.
Code, in public
Most of what I build starts on GitHub: university team projects, side apps, Discord bots from my early days, and contributions to the BALab website as part of the lab.
